Christmas Cookies 
These cookies stay fresh and soft forever and they are good with or without frosting. Ingredients:1 cup butter 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese 1 egg 1 1/2 cups white sugar 3 1/2 cups white all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp almond extract 1 tsp vanilla Directions:
- Beat butter, cream cheese, and sugar till fluffy.
- Add egg, extracts, and baking powder.
- Add flour.
- Form dough into a ball and chill overnight. (This also freezes well for later use.)
- Roll dough and cut with cutters.
- Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired
- Bake at about 350 until they are just done on top and light brown on the bottom. Don't overbake.
- Frost with buttercream frosting and decorate.
You can also add food coloring to the butter, cream cheese, sugar mixture to make colored dough like red hearts for Valentine's Day.Submitted by: Bridget Branch
