Drop Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
2/3 cup vegetable shortening 1 2/3 cups sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla 3 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
Directions: - In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
- In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
- Drop batter by teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake at 375F for 12 minutes or until just golden.
- Remove from baking sheet to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 5 dozen
