Drop Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

2/3 cup vegetable shortening
1 2/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup dairy sour cream

Directions:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well.
  3. In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
  4. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
  5. Drop batter by teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 375F for 12 minutes or until just golden.
  7. Remove from baking sheet to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 5 dozen
