Holiday Butter Cookies

These are excellent butter cookies that will hold your holiday stamp well and not change size when baking.



Ingredients:

1 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 egg

Directions:
  1. Cream the butter until light.
  2. Gradually add in the sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and almond extract.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour.
  5. Cover and chill dough until firm.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C).
  7. Roll dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 or 1/8 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters or stamps.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 8 to 12 minutes.

Makes 2 - 3 dozen
