Peachy Bread Pudding
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups milk 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 6 slices day-old bread, cut into 1-inch squares (about 2 1/2 cups) 1 (8-ounce) can sliced peaches, drained 1/2 cup raisins
Directions: - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Lightly butter an 11x7-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and nutmeg until well mixed.
- Add the bread, peaches, and raisins.
- Let stand 5 minutes.
- Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
- Bake until the custard is set in the center (a knife inserted into it will not necessarily come out clean), about 50 minutes.
- Remove the pudding from the oven and let it stand for 10 minutes.
- Serve warm. Or let it cool completely, cover, and refrigerate until chilled.
