Sponge Candy

cookies


Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
1 tbsp vinegar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tbsp baking soda
Melted Chocolate

Directions:
  1. Combine sugar, corn syrup & vinegar in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Continue cooking without stirring until it reaches 300 degrees on candy thermometer or until it becomes very brittle when dropped in cold water.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Sift baking soda & stil mixing well.
  6. Pour into slightly buttered 9x9" pan. Do not spread as candy will spread itself.

  7. DO NOT TOUCH PAN or it will not rise.
  8. Cool. Break into pieces. Dip into melted chocolate.
