Sponge Candy
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar 1 tbsp vinegar 1 cup light corn syrup 1 tbsp baking soda Melted Chocolate
Directions:
- Combine sugar, corn syrup & vinegar in a heavy saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
- Continue cooking without stirring until it reaches 300 degrees on candy thermometer or until it becomes very brittle when dropped in cold water.
- Remove from heat.
- Sift baking soda & stil mixing well.
- Pour into slightly buttered 9x9" pan. Do not spread as candy will spread itself.
DO NOT TOUCH PAN or it will not rise.- Cool. Break into pieces. Dip into melted chocolate.
