Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
Granulated sugar

Directions:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugars, butter, oil, and eggs.
  2. Beat until well blended.
  3. Beat in baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add flour; beat until well blended.
  5. Cover and chill well.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Roll balls in Granulated sugar.
  8. Place balls 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
  9. Flatten with the bottom of a glass.
  10. Bake at 375F 10-12 minutes.
  11. Cool on a wire rack.
Makes 6 dozen
