A Virtual Postcard is a webpage that is created when you fill out and submit the "Create a
Postcard" form. It is a greeting you send via the Internet, similar to sending a paper postcard
through the regular post office. Only difference being - a virtual postcard is much more 'private',
only You and the recipient will know what is written on it (unlike regular 'snail-mail'
postcards - which are open to all prying eyes). Paw Prints Multimedia Postcards also allows you
to choose music to accompany your postcard. Try doing that with a regular postcard!
What is a Thumbnail?
A thumbnail is a small version of a larger picture -- the small postcard pictures you see
on our category pages are thumbnail versions. (You can click on the 'view at full size' button
above a thumbnail to see the full size version.)
What is a Notification Email?
A notification email is the email message you receive when someone sends you a postcard. It will contain the
pick-up pass key and instructions on how to pick up your Postcard.
What is a Pick-Up Pass Key?
A pick-up pass key is the special unique code you need to pick up your postcard. If you have received
a Paw Prints Postcard, you will find the pick-up pass key listed in the notification email. You just
enter your unique pick-up pass key into our "Pick Up A Postcard" form located on our pick up page.
Be sure to enter your pick-up pass key exactly as you received it or you will be unable to
pick up your Postcard.
What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a Web server passes to your Web browser when you visit a
certain Web site. The same Web site (and no one else) can read the information from the cookie
file. Cookies are in no way dangerous and no personal information is passed to anyone.
Paw Prints Multimedia Postcards does NOT use cookies, however some of our sponsors do use cookies
to make sure that their ad will be displayed to a user only once per day / week / month. (again,
we need our sponsors to continue offering this free service to you.)
What is a Browser?
A browser is a program used to view web pages. The two most popular browsers are Netscape's
Communicator, and Microsoft's Internet Explorer. (both are available free.)
What are those funny little thingys I see on some of your pages?
They are the Postcards ! (c: Oh, you mean *that* thingy? That is my "little smiley
face". (hold head other way to see). Isn't that cute?? Told ya we were the "Unique Postcard
